One ISAF soldier was killed and two others injured in a traffic accident just outside Kabul, capital of Afghanistan, the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) said in a statement on Thursday.
An ISAF armored vehicle overturned on a steep incline at 11:20 p.m. local time on Wednesday while on a routine patrol on the road towards the Musay Valley, it said.
"One solider was killed and two slightly injured," it added.
The injured soldiers, who were able to move by themselves, were taken to an ISAF medical facility for treatment.
Italian Defense Ministry has confirmed that it was an Italian soldier that died.
Traffic accidents have caused fatalities to ISAF from time to time in this country, where about 21,000 ISAF soldiers are deployed.
On Aug. 12, an ISAF soldier died in a vehicle accident in the southern Helmand province, while three days before it, a traffic accident killed one ISAF soldier in Kabul.
