Jordan sends doctor for its prisoners in Israel
font size

Jordan on Wednesday sent a doctor to Israel to conduct a check-up on some 20 Jordanian citizens held in Israeli jails, the official news agency Petra reported.

The physician will give special examination to the longest- serving Jordanian prisoner in Israel, Sultan Ajlouni, whose health is reportedly deteriorating, the report said.

According to Petra, the Jordanian government is pushing ahead with efforts to ensure the release of the prisoners, including Ajlouni who was captured by Israel 15 years ago on charges of attacking Israeli citizens.

Jordan has been under rising pressure by families of the prisoners over the past months to ensure their release.
