China and Indonesia will make action plans to further step up bilateral cooperation in various fields, especially in anti-terrorism, and disaster prevention and relief, according to a meeting of vice premier level between the two countries.
Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan and visiting Coordinating Minister for Political, Law and Security Affairs of Indonesia Widodo Adi Sutjipto held the first meeting of the China-Indonesia dialogue mechanism of vice premier level on Sunday in Beijing.
The two sides exchanged views on further developing bilateral relations and cooperation, as well as some international and regional issues, including the relations between China and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
The two sides agreed to promote political mutual trust to consolidate the political foundation of the bilateral ties, give full consideration and respect to the major concerns of each other, and establish and improve relevant mechanisms to enhance bilateral cooperation in such areas as economy and trade, security, anti-terrorism, and disaster prevention and relief.
Tang said that the China-Indonesia strategic partnership, established last year, was a "strategic decision" made based on the common interests of the two countries.
He said the establishment of the vice premier level dialogue mechanism will help the two countries promote bilateral strategic partnership, and complies with the change of international and regional situation.
China is willing to work with Indonesia to expand bilateral cooperation and push forward the common development of the two countries, so as to make new contribution to the peace and development of the region and the world as a whole, Tang said.
Widodo said Indonesia highly values the relations with China, and is willing to make joint efforts with the Chinese side to promote the cooperation in various fields, and strengthen the bilateral strategic partnership.
Widodo also reiterated the firm adherence of Indonesia to the one-China policy, noting it is the important political foundation for the development of the China-Indonesia relations.
Widodo is invited by Tang for a five-day official visit in China, which is also his first visit to China since he assumed the office.
