Indonesia's foreign tourist arrival down in first seven months

The number of foreign tourist arrival in the fist seven months in Indonesia decreased by 8.03 percent to 361,900 people, compared to the same period last year, National Statistic Bureau announced here Friday.

The decrease also occur in Indonesia's beautiful resort of Bali, in which only 128,620 foreign tourists arriving at the island in July this year which means 22.12 percent lower than the same period last year, head of the bureau Rusman Heriawan said.

Indonesia has targeted 5.5 million foreign tourist arrival this year.

Indonesia's tourism industry has been hit by the Asian financial crisis in 1997 and then by terrorism.
