font size

A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) has called on citizens to seriously study the newly-published Selected Works of Jiang Zemin and to further promote the development of the western region.

Li Changchun, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, made the remarks during an inspection tour of west China's Qinghai Province between Aug. 24 and 28.

Studying the Selected Works of Jiang Zemin, former chief of the CPC Central Committee, is an important task of the party's ideological and political work and the theoretical study and training of party members and cadres, according to Li.

Many of the articles included in Jiang's works relate to China's socialist market economic system, agriculture, reform of state-owned companies, scientific innovation, development of west China, sustainable development and realization of common wealth.

Li stressed that the study should be incorporated into the building of a moderately prosperous society in an all-round way, the development of west China, the fundamental interests of the people, as well as the socialist advanced culture.

The Selected Works of Jiang Zemin, compiled by the Party Literature Editing Committee, has been released across the country. They mainly consist of Jiang's major works from the late 1980s through the early period of the 21st century.
