Shaolin Temple, the birthplace of the Chan sect of Buddhism and Shaolin Wushu, located in Songshan Mountain of Dengfeng County, Henan Province, has recently signed a contract with Henan College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Henan College of TCM) to start education jointly. From then on, the overseas followers of Shaolin Temple can get admission to Henan College of TCM to study traditional Chinese medicine, Shaolin pharmacological science and authentic Shaolin Kung Fu. In this way, they can combine traditional Chinese medicine and Wushu and promte them to the world.

The cooperative education is set to be 5-year undergraduate higher learning program. According to the contract the students after finishing academic year and passing the examination will be conferred the diploma by the college and the elementary certificate on heritage classic Chinese medicine by Shaolin Temple.

Shi Yongxin, the abbot of Shaolin Temple said that the cooperation would also cover some exchanges and sharing of pharmacy resources, including some secret recipes of "Shaolin Pharmacy Office".

Peng Bo, Dean of Henan College of TCM, introduced that the cooperation program is temporally open to foreigners alone, and mainly launches the courses concerning traditional Chinese medicine and Wushu.
