font size

Poland will attend an informal meeting of potential participants for an international stabilization mission in Lebanon, Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Andrzej Sados announced Sunday.

Participants of the meeting, to be held in New York on Monday, will discuss the possibilities of forming an international stabilization force to be deployed in southern Lebanon as well as its scale, tasks and U.N. mandate.

The Polish delegation will be headed by deputy Foreign Minister Stanislaw Komorowski, he said.

Currently, there are 214 Polish troops stationed in Lebanon within the U.N. mission since 1994.
