The Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee passed a resolution Monday that the Sixteenth CPC Central Committee will hold its Sixth Session in October.
The main topics of the session include the hearing of a report on the work of the Political Bureau and the study on issue of building a harmonious socialist society, according to a press release.
The participants also discussed the country's current economic situation at Monday's meeting, which was presided over by General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee Hu Jintao.
The participants agreed that the building of a harmonious socialist society is a major strategic task proposed by the Party in view of the general layout of the socialist cause with China's characteristics and the general situation of building a comprehensive well-off society, which reflects the internal demands for building an affluent, democratic, civilized, harmonious and modernized socialist country as well as the common aspiration of the Party and the people.
They held that the building of a harmonious socialist society be made a more prominent issue.
"Our country now enjoys a harmonious society in general, but there do exist quite a few contradictions and problems that have affected the social harmony," they agreed, urging all the Party members to maintain cool-headed and be prepared for any possible danger in times of safety.
