Afghan government troops have killed another five suspected militants in the volatile Uruzgan province in south Afghanistan, the Defense Ministry said Saturday.
"Personnel of Afghanistan National Army (ANA) killed five enemies including two foreign nationals in Lilan village of Deh Rawad district on Friday," the ministry said in a press release.
However, it did not identify the nationality of the two Taliban- linked foreign national militants.
A number of arms and ammunition including explosive materials were also seized from the their possession, it added.
More than 40 militants have been killed in the Uruzgan province over the past one week, according to government officials.
Taliban-linked insurgency has claimed the lives of more than 1, 000 people since January this year in the post-Taliban nation.
