The World Heritage Committee (WHC) added here on Wednesday eight new sites and one extension to the World Heritage List during its 30th session.

It also removed the Archaeological site of Tipasa of Algeria from the List of world Hertiage in Danger.

Aside from the two natural sites, China's Sichuan Giant Panda Sancturay and Colombia's Malpelo Fauna and Flora Sancturay, the WHC added six cultural sites.

They are Ethiopia's Harar Jugol, Chongoni Rock Art Area of Malawi, Aapravasi Ghat of Mauritius, The Agave Landscape of Mexico, Kondoa Rock Art Sites of Uinted republic of Tanzania, Stone Circles of Senegambia, which crosses Gambia and Senegal.

The Kvarken Archipelago, in the Gulf of Bothnia off the coast of Finland, was added as an extension to the World Heritage site of the High Coast of Sweden, which was inscribed in 2000.

The WHC decided to remove the Algerian site of Tipasa from the danger list due to the commitment of Algeria to solve prominent problems by the 31st session of the WHC in June 2007.

The archaelogical site was put on the danger list in 2002 for the problems of urbanization near the site, the absence of a buffer zone for the property, inadequate legal protection and management plan.

The WHC will continue to discuss new sites for inscription on the World heritage List Thursday.

The nine-day session will end on Sunday.
