Ghanaian sprinter Aziz Zakari failed a doping test, and was to be banned for two years, said the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) on Wednesday.
Zakari tested positive for steroid stanozolol at the IAAF Grand Prix in Dakar, Senegal, on April 29. If found guilty, he could face a two-year ban, said IAAF spokesman Nick Davies.
The analysis of Zakari's B sample confirmed the original positive finding, said Davies.
The 29-year-old Zakari will go before a Ghanaian federation disciplinary panel before any final penalty becomes official.
Zakarki has a career best time of 9.99 seconds in the 100 meters.
