Poland have named Leo Beenhakker, the Dutchman who led Trinidad and Tobago into the World Cup finals, as their national soccer coach, TVN24 reported on Tuesday.

Beenhakker, 63, replaces Pawel Janas, who quit after the Polish team's poor showing in the World Cup in Germany.

Dariusz Dziekanowski, a former national squad striker, will be Beenhakker's assistant.
