A senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) highlighted the importance of reform and a harmonious cultural atmosphere to the reinvigoration of the country's northeast rust belt.
Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, reaffirmed the Party and government's resolve to push forward reform, saying it's the basis for building a strong nation during visits to businesses, rural villages and urban communities in northeast China's Liaoning Province from July 1-5.
Revitalization of old industrial bases in northeast China is a strategic decision of the CPC. The publicity should serve the region's reform and innovation, he said.
Building a harmonious culture helps lay a solid ideological basis for building a harmonious socialist society, he said, urging redoubled efforts to be put on developing cultural undertakings for public welfare and cultural industries.
