At least five people, including an elderly woman, were killed and 30 others injured Thursday in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in Savar, 25 km west of Bangladesh's capital Dhaka, private news agency UNB reported.

Police and witnesses said the deadly accident took place at noon when a truck rammed into a bus.

Three bus passengers, including an 80-year-old woman and the truck driver, died on the spot, an eyewitness said.

Thirty-one passengers of the bus were injured in the accident. They were admitted to local hospital where an unidentified injured man died.
