Uganda to send team to the South African kick boxing championships

The Ugandan Kick Boxing Association (UKBA) is to send a team to participate in the South African Kick Boxing Championships scheduled for September 22-24 in Pretoria, South Africa.

Joseph Kasato, vice president of the UKBA, confirmed that they had received the invitation and had decided to honor any international event in which they were invited since they wanted to develop the game in the country.

"We are new in the system of running the game of kick boxing but our short stay in office has brought us some glory already," said a proud Kasato.

Uganda won the one-day Kenya Labor Day Championship, which was held on May 13 in Nairobi, after Buruhan Semwogerere (bantam), Moses Golola (light welter), Shaban Anda (middle), Richard Lule (feather) and Kojja Kataserwa (welter) all stopped their opponents to return home with gold medals.

"We hope to select a competitive team for the South African Championship because we want to return with glory," added Eddie Gombya, general secretary of the UKBA.
