The air quality of Guilin tops the cities in the Chinese mainland in 2005 with an excellency rate of 100%, Pan Jianmin, vice mayor of Guilin announced on Thursday.
The air quality monitoring result in Guilin shows that the air quality was excellent in 305 days and was good in 60 days. The excellency rate was 100%. The average sulfur dioxide consistency agreed with the grade II of the ambient air quality standard; the average density of nitrogen dioxide and inhalable particulates conformed to the Grade I.
The area where dust discharge was under control reached 100% in the city, and the green coverage rate increased from 39.50% to 40.12%, representing 8.88 square meters of green area per capita.
