Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Wednesday resolved to continue its support for the just cause of the Palestinian people.

He made the remarks when he met with Palestinian Foreign Minister Mahmoud al-Zahar, who called on him in Islamabad, a state- run radio reported.

"They exchanged views on different aspects of Palestinian problem and regional as well as the international issues of mutual interest," the radio said.

Talking to Radio Pakistan, Zahar expressed his gratitude to Pakistan for its consistent support to the Palestine.

He said that Pakistan was also providing vitally needed financial assistance to Palestinian authority besides extending political support.

He thanked Pakistan for its announcement to provide 3 million U. S. dollars and the offer to build Palestinian embassy in Islamabad.

The Palestinian foreign minister said that they were trying to overcome their financial difficulties by reforming the system and securing assistance from different sources.

He was confident that the Palestinian authority will succeed in efforts to evolve a self-dependent system.
