font size

A sport anchorman for the state-run Iraqiya TV was gunned down in Baghdad on Wednesday, Iraqiya reported.

The report said that unknown gunmen opened fire at Ali Jaafar Ali, an Iraqiya sport anchorman, in front of his house in the Shurta al-Rabia neighborhood in southwest of Baghdad on Wednesday morning.

The killing came two days after two newsmen of the U.S. CBS television were killed and a third female correspondent was seriously wounded in a car bombing while they were embedded with the U.S. army in Baghdad.
