font size

Visiting Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake vowed to enhance economic and trade cooperation with China's largest metropolis of Shanghai on Tuesday in a meeting with local officials.

Shanghai witnessed rapid economic development in recent years. Sri Lanka will learn its experience, he said.

The two sides recorded steady growth in textile, power and rubber trade, he added.

The prime minister began an unofficial visit to China after attending the Boao Forum for Asia annual conference in Hainan last weekend. He visited northwest China's Shaanxi Province before coming to Shanghai.
