The world's largest tethered helium balloon will be inflated in Singapore on Wednesday night to become a new attraction in the city state, a Channel NewsAsia report said Wednesday.
It will take 40 adults more than 12 hours to float the France- made balloon, which is worth 2 million Singapore dollars (about 1. 3 million U.S. dollars), and is said to be the only one of its kind approved and certified as an aircraft.
Passengers can board the balloon to enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view from as high as 40 stories, as permitted by local authorities, from next Thursday.
The new attraction, known as the DHL Balloon, is expected to receive some 250,000 people in its first year and yield about 3 million Singapore dollars (about 1.9 million U.S. dollars) in tourism receipts.
