Five Iraqis including two policemen were killed in two separate attacks in Baghdad on Wednesday, an Interior Ministry source said.
An earlier police report said that the five were killed in a bomb attack in central Baghdad.
The source said that four Iraqis, including one policeman and three civilians, were killed when a roadside bomb exploded near a police patrol in Waziriya district in central Baghdad on Wednesday morning.
Several civilian cars and a police vehicle were also damaged in the powerful blast, the source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident on Wednesday morning, unidentified gunmen opened fire at a police officer when he was leaving his house in the Amil district in southwestern Baghdad, the source said.
The gunmen then fled the scene, he added.
Insurgents frequently mount attacks on Iraqi police forces, accusing them of being collaborators with the U.S. occupation forces.
