The 6th African Education Forum will be held on March 27-31 in the Gabonese capital, the government said Saturday.
The biannual forum, organized by the Association for the Development of Education in Africa (ADEA), will focus on education programs for primary schools.
More than 400 delegates, including education ministers in sub-Sahara Africa, have registered to participate in the event.
Among the dignitaries expected at the forum are the head of the African Union Commission Alpha Oumar Konare, Cape Verde President Pedro Pires and Gabonese President Omar Bongo Ondimba.
Education and information ministers from sub-Sahara African nations are also expected at the gathering.
The ADEA was created in 1988 to popularize education across Africa and seek financial support for that end.
