Protesters clash with police, opposition candidate detained

Police detained Belarussian opposition presidential candidate Alexander Kozulin on Saturday as demonstrators protesting the re-election of President Alexander Lukashenko clashed with police in the capital city of Minsk, Russian news agencies reported.

Thousands of opposition supporters gathered in a Minsk park after being denied access to a central square.
