font size

Four Pakistani security personnel were injured on Saturday when unidentified gunmen opened fire on their vehicle in the country's North Waziristan tribal agency, witnesses in the area said.

One of the injured is in serious condition, said Dr Gul Anar Jan Tarikhel in government hospital in Bannu, a major city close to North Waziristan.

The assailants opened fire on the security men from their car near Mir Ali, a town in North Waziristan, and fled right away.

The security forces launched operations against suspected militants in North Waziristan on March 1, killing some 140 militants so far.
