Wu Guanzheng, member of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Political Bureau has urged all to uphold the new concept of advanced socialist values and increase officials' awareness of clean governance.

Wu made the call during an inspection tour to Jilin Province, northeast China, on March 17-21.

Chinese President Hu Jintao, who is also general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, put forward the new concept of socialist values which highlights the values of patriotism, hard work and plain living, belief in science, consciousness of serving the people, solidarity, honesty and credibility, and observation of the law.
