    Archaeology exhibition in Beijing

    France names general inspector for Chinese language education

    Miss Universe Beauty Pageant 2006 in China

    Qi Fang, a contestant from central China's Jiangxi Province is crowned Miss Universe China 2006. A total of 50 contestants from Beijing, Shanghai, Sichuan, Heilongjiang, Jiangxi, Zhejiang participated in the finals held in Harbin, capital city of northeast China's Heilongjiang Province on March 1, 2006. This is the fourth year that China holds Miss Universe Beauty Pageant.

    Lower-cost hospital in Ningxia

    Rescuers prepare to enter a pit after an explosive blast at a coal mine in Handan, North China's Hebei Province March 2, 2006. Six miners were killed, 6 injured and 25 others were trapped when the explosion happened on Thursday afternoon. 10 of the trapped have been rescued.
