A Palestinian was shot dead on Tuesday night after he stabbed two Israeli settlers and wounded them near the West Bank city of Bethlehem, Palestinian security sources said.
Israel Radio had earlier reported that two Israeli settlers were wounded after a Palestinian stabbed them with a knife he carried at a bus station of Gush Itzion settlement.
Israeli soldiers near the scene opened fire at the Palestinian assailant and seriously wounded him, said the radio, adding that the two settlers and the Palestinian were all moved to a hospital in Jerusalem.
Israeli hospital sources told the radio that the Palestinian stabber died of his wounds at the hospital.
No group or person has claimed responsibility for the stabbing attack.
