font size

At least 13 people were killed in an Angolan military helicopter crashed into the sea at the weekend about 50 km north of the capital Luanda, reported the local press Tuesday.

The Angolan Air Force helicopter, bound for the northern enclave province of Cabinda, took off Saturday from a Luanda air base with about 30 passengers on board.

The reported Russia-made plane plunged into the sea off a fishing village near the town of Dande in Bengo province and local residents managed to pull 13 bodies from the wreckage.

The causes of the crash will be probed by an official committee, reports said.
