Turkey police arrested seven people suspected of planning to stage attacks with plastic explosives, Istanbul Police Chief Celalettin Cerrah said on Tuesday.
Cerrah said police confiscated 10.4 kg of plastic explosives in three operations in Istanbul, the largest city of Turkey.
"Those seven terrorists, including a female, who were sent to Istanbul by a terrorist organization to stage terrorist attacks, were arrested in our operations. One of those terrorists was caught red-handed," said Cerrah.
A bomb exploded at an Internet cafe in Istanbul on Feb. 9, killing one person and wounding 16 others.
The Kurdistan Liberation Hawks claimed responsibility for the attack.
Four days later, another bomb rocked an Istanbul supermarket, wounding 15 people.
