Dell China denies using AMD chips
font size

In its first response to rumors saying that Dell will use AMD's chips, Dell Inc. China said Monday that currently the company isn't conducting any test for AMD chips or related assembly and Intel is still Dell's sole chip partner, Beijing Times reports.

Yesterday afternoon, Dell Inc. China held a small-scale meeting with the press on Dell business laptops.

Sources with the company said after the meeting that the bubbling rumor that "Dell's secretly begun to test AMD chips" is sheer false news.

Reporters were told that Dell is now selling single AMD chips on its website in the United States to offer more options for consumers. However, it's totally different from installing AMD chips in its computers.

Dell is now the only major computer brand that only uses Intel chips.
