The overall industrial added value of central China's Henan Province reached 492.3 billion yuan (about 61 billion U.S. dollars) last year, contributing 56.7 percent to the economic growth of the province, according to government statistics.
The province's industrial enterprises registered 120.2 billion yuan in profits and tax last year, 3.5 times the figure for 2000. Industrial sales reached one trillion yuan last year, 3.1 times the figure for 2000.
Six industrial enterprises each reported sales higher than 10 billion yuan, and another three industrial enterprises each reported sales higher than 20 billion yuan.
Henan spent 10.2 billion yuan on the adjustment of industrial structure and high-tech development in the past five years, which greatly improved the competitiveness of local industries.
