Beijing to start recruiting volunteers for Olympic games in June
font size

Beijing will officially start recruiting volunteers for 2008 Beijing Olympic games in June this year, mainly university students as well as people from the society, said Qiang Wei, deputy secretary of Beijing Municipal Party Committee, when taking part in the discussions of the fourth session of the 10th Beijing municipal political consultative conference on Monday in Beijing.

Qiang said volunteers are an important component of the Olympic work. Warm with hospitality, citizens in Beijing have senses of capital honor and responsibility, which are the good precondition and foundation. With young people as a main body, the recruitment will be made nationwide and the world over. Young volunteers from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan are welcome, and so are foreigners.
