Polish president dismisses finance minister
font size

Polish President Lech Kaczynski on Saturday dismissed Finance Minister Teresa Lubinska and named Zyta Gilowska for replacement.

Gilowska, the new finance minister, is a former member of the Civic Platform party, with which the ruling Law and Justice party tried to form a coalition government but failed in talks.

The replacement came just four days after the resignation of Treasury Minister Andrzej Mikosz, who was the first cabinet member to leave Poland's conservative government, which took office in October.
