Head of the central government delegation Luo Gan put forward four suggestions on Xinjiang's development at a conference celebrating the 50th anniversary of the founding of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.

While confirming Xinjiang's achievements in the past half century, Luo said to achieve future development, the Xinjiang regional government and people should stick to the path suitable for Xinjiang by upholding the concept of scientific development to guide socio-economic development.

Luo, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, urged them to adhere to and improve ethnic regional autonomy system.

He called for strengthening ethnic unity and resolutely combat ethnic separatists, religious extremists and terrorists.

He also called on enhancing Party's capacity in government work and to maintain the advance nature of the CPC organizations at various levels.

Deputy heads of the delegation, including Vice-Premier Hui Liangyu and Vice-Chairman of the National People's Congress Standing Committee Ismail Amat, Vice-Chairpersons of the CPPCC National Committee Liu Yandong and Abdul'ahat Abdulrixit, and Li Jinai, member of the Central Military Commission, attended the conference.

On the same day, the delegation visited model workers and staffs, and outstanding experts in Xinjiang. They watched a song-and-dance show on celebrations.
