A suicide car bomber attacked a bus outside Iraq's oil ministry in eastern Baghdad on Monday morning, killing seven people and wounding 30 others, police said.

"A suicide bomber drove his explosive-packed car into a vehicle carrying oil ministry employees at about 8:00 a.m. (0400 GMT), killing seven employees and wounding 30 others," an Interior Ministry source told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The employees were heading to work at the time of the blast.

In another incident, the US troops opened random fire at civilians in a commercial area in central Baghdad, killing one person and wounding four, police said without giving details.
