A suicide car bomber struck a US diplomatic convoy in the northern Iraqi city of Mosul on Tuesday, killing four US security agents, the Qatar-based al-Jazeera TV channel reported.
A suicide bomber rammed an explosive-laden car into a three-car US diplomatic convoy in al-Zera'a district in Mosul, the channel said.
Several militants blocked a main road in the district after the convoy arrived, preventing civilian cars from approaching the scene before the suicide bomber attacked the US vehicles, said the report.
A four-wheel vehicle was burnt down, the channel said quoting witnesses.
Earlier, the US military said four US soldiers were killed in western Iraq in separate roadside bomb attacks.
