Malik Mahmud, who earlier on Monday signed here a peace agreement with Indonesian government on behalf of the Free Aceh Movement (GAM), said the Aceh opposition still has some worries about their future and peace.
GAM's worries focus on security, like presence of big number of Indonesian troops and government-linked militias in Aceh, he said.
"The number of troops that will remain in Aceh does not appear to correspond with the usual requirements of the Indonesian military's territorial structure," Mahmud said after signing the agreement.
The pact, known as Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) in its formal name, promulgates that "all acts of violence between the parties will end latest at the time of the sign of this MOU."
The Indonesian government and the GAM have agreed by the pact to withdraw "non-organic military and non-organic police forces" from Aceh by the end of this year in parallel with the GAM's decommission.
According to the pact, the number of "organic military forces" to remain in Aceh is 14700, plus 9100 police forces.
"There will be twice as many troops to be stationed in Aceh than that of any other area in Indonesia," Mahmud complaint.
"This outcome cannot be explained by a focus on external defense," he added.
He said his another concern is the militias in Aceh, as there are 10000 "government forces-liked militia" members active in Aceh.
The peace agreement signed said the Indonesian government will be responsible for the decommissioning of the illegal weapons held by illegal groups or parties in Aceh.
"The government of Indonesia has denied that any militias exist in Aceh.Hence, the logic follows, there is no need for their disarmament," Mahmud told a press conference.
"We know that many militia organizations do exist in Aceh, and they are directly linked to and are supported by the Indonesian army," he said.
He said some militias had recently threaten to kill GAM members after they are disarmed.
"If GAM defends itself against these militias, this will be the excuse the government is looking for to re-launch military operations against GAM," he said.
"This will end the peace process," he warned.
