Famous actor playing Mao Zedong dies

Gu Yue died of miocardial infarction in southern Guangdong Province of China on the night of July 2. Gu, whose original name is Hu Shixue, was enrolled in the army in 1949. He was appointed by Marshal Ye Jianying to play the role of Mao Zedong in 1978, two years after the great leader passed away. In his 27-year-long screening life, Gu played Mao in 84 TV programs or movies.
