The Communist Party of China (CPC) will join hands with the Hungarian Socialist Party to achieve greater progress in their exchanges, a senior CPC official said in Beijing Thursday.

Liu Yunshan, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remark when meeting with Veres Janos, member of the Presidium of the Hungarian Socialist Party, in the Great Hall of the People Thursday afternoon.

The two sides exchanged views on relations between the two countries and two parties and on international issues of common concern.

Veres Janos is also Minister of Finance of Hungary. He visited China at the invitation of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee.
