Sixteen-year-old Korean won gold at Shooting World Cup

Sixteen-year-old markswoman Lee Ho Lim from South Korea won her first World Cup gold medal at her third attendance in the meet at the Shooting World Cup in Milan on Wednesday and took a quota place for her nation for Beijing Olympics 2008.

Despite a fourth shot of 8.7 during the final, Lee finished first with a total score of 485.9, eight tenth of a differnce ahead in the women's 10 meter air pistol, the first event of the meet. It was her first World Cup gold medal after she finished fourth at the World Cup in Munich several days ago and a fourth place at last year's World Cup in Sydney.

Liudmila Chabatar, 30, from Belarus shot the best final score of 101.1to take the silver medal. It was her first time competing in a final of this event since her first appearence in World Cups 2000.

The bronze medal went to Lalita Yauhleuskaya, 41, from Australia, who started the final on the first position but lost her pace in the final with a score of 96.3 and kept on the third with one tenth of a difference at the end.

Nino Salukvadze from Georgia and Chen Ying from China placed fourth and fifth respectively.
