"Seabed forest"to be rebuilt in Tianjin
font size

To improve fishery resources and ecological environment at the Bohai Sea, and promote sustainable development for fishery industry, Tianjin will put up China's first model project of shallow sea ecological fish reef.

Within next three years, Tianjin will rebuild a "forest at seabed"by placing large number of artificial fish reefs that serve as asylum for fishes and oysters where they can inhabit, look for baits and lay eggs. The project will help form a virtuous marine ecologic environment cycle and return the sea along Tianjin to abundant sea farms.

Tianjin will construct artificial fish reefs covering an area of 1.44 Sq. Kilometers in the next three years. The city will then proliferate prawns, crabs, etc in the region.
