Visiting Chinese State Councilor Chen Zhili said in Ankara Monday that China will further promote cooperation with Turkey in the fields of cultural, educational and sports exchanges.
Chen made the remarks during her talks with Turkish State Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Ali Sahin.
The relations between China and Turkey have developed smoothly since the establishment of diplomatic ties 34 years ago, Chen said.
She noted that in recent years, China and Turkey have witnessed a constant increase in political exchanges and the trade volume between the two countries has grown remarkably.
She said the relations between Turkey and China root deeply in history and China highly appreciates the Turkish government's effort to promote ties between the two countries.
China is ready to join hands with Turkey to push bilateral relations to a new high level on the basis of mutual respect, common interest and joint development, she added.
Chen arrived in Ankara on Monday morning after a five day visit to Greece.
