Chinese trade unions to enhance ties with Botswana's counterparts

Chinese trade unions are ready to consolidate their friendly ties with Botswana Federation of Trade Unions (BFTU) under the principles of independence, equality, mutual respect and non-interference in internal affairs, said Wang Zhaoguo, president of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions on Monday.

During his meeting with a delegation headed by BFTU President Ronald D. Baipidi, Wang said the Chinese trade unions have always attached great importance to developing friendly ties with trade unions of all countries including BFTU.

Wang, also vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress, said to unswervingly enhance solidarity and cooperation with the trade unions of African countries is an important part of the foreign policies of the Chinese trade unions.

Baipidi spoke highly of China's achievements in economic and social development. He also appreciated the job the Chinese trade unions have done to maintain workers' interests.

He said he will make unremitting efforts to strengthen the solidarity between the two countries' trade unions and expand exchanges and cooperation.
