Veteran Jewish journalist and writer Israel Epstein (C) attends a celebration for his 90th birthday held at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, April 20, 2005. Born on April 20, 1915, Epstein came to China with his parents at the age of two. He began to work for China's revolution in 1933 and became a Chinese citizen in 1957. The noted journalist and writer once served as editor-in-chief of China Reconstructs (China Today) magazine.
