Indonesia's tsunami dead, missing rise to 241,687

The Indonesian Health Ministry said Sunday the number of people dead and missing after Dec. 26 earthquake and tsunami in Indonesia had increased to 241,687.

An official of the ministry told Xinhua the number of people confirmed dead and buried was 113,913 while the number of people missing was 127,774.

She said that over 4,500 people were still hospitalized and more than 75,000 others suffered minor injury.

The official said that more bodies were discovered everyday during the removal of debris in the affected areas in the province of Aceh.
