Liaoning Panpan defeated Jilin Tigers 131-96 at home while Yi Jianlian scored a perfect 16-of-16 shooting to pace Guangdong Hongyuan for a 113-103 away victory over Shaanxi Kylin in the China Basketball Association (CBA) league on Wednesday.
Veteran Sun Jun and Roderick Gragoire paced the visitors for a 31-24 lead in the first quarter in Shenyang before Wesley Wilson took over the game from the paint for Liaoning since the second period on, scoring game-high 38 points.
Liaoning, who have ensured their top place in the North Division on a 23-8 sheet with six rounds remaining, entered the last quarter 86-76 and forced the visitors to field in substitutes for the last minutes.
Liu Xiaotao and Alexander added 19 and 18 points for the winners, while Gragoire led the Tigers with 23 points, including three perfect 3-pointers, and Sun Jun added 21 points.
In Xi'an, Shaanxi lost their home game to Guangdong Hongyuan 103-113 after the visitors led the first half 69-54 with their three-pointers.
The host team once rallied back to 84-88 in the third period, the best they could made, before playmaker Joseph Garth often found trapped inside to finish with 20 points.
Leng Dong led Kylin with 23 points, including five of 11 3-pointers, Shan Weiguo added 22 points and Ma Yunkun was the only other Kylin player in double digit with 10 points.
For the visitors, Yi Jianlian poured in game-high 34 points on a perfect 16-for-16 shots. During his 37-minute efforts, Yi only missed one of three throws from the line.
Zhu Fangyu also made a huge contribution with 25 points, and Du Feng added 20.
In Nanjing, league-pacers Jiangsu Nangang whitewashed Bayi Shuanglu 109-68 for their perfect home record as both veterans Hu Weidong and Liu Yudong sat out the match for each side.
The home players established their advantages in the first half 62-34 and left little room for the visitors, as Li Nan, who scored 21 points, became the sole offensive weapon for Bayi.
Tang Zhengdong poured in 29 points for Jiangsu, Ryan Forehan Kelly and Meng Da combined for 37 points.
In Shanghai, the Sharks defeated Zhejiang Cyclone 104-98 at home as the visitors swallowed their third straight defeat in their encounters of the season.
Wang Yong made a pair of three-pointers to pace the hosts for a 35-17 lead into the second quarter where the Sharks suffered defensive loose to allow the visitors to claw back 42-54.
After leading 77-62 into the last period, the Cyclone once cut the deficit to four with four minutes remaining before Liu Wei stood up for the shots and free throws to ensure the victory.
Zhang Wenqi led the Sharks with 27 points and Liu Wei added 24,while Samaki led the Cyclone with 26 points in 36 minutes.
In other games of the day, Xinjiang Guanghui beat Fujian Xunxing 112-93 and Yunnan Honghe defeated Shandong Kingston 95-92, both at home, while Henan Jigang lost to visiting Beijing Ducks 95-107.
