China is willing to boost friendly cooperation with Ethiopia, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said Wednesday in Addis Ababa.

Wang Jiarui, head of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks when meeting with Ethiopian Prime Minister Meles Zenawi. He said both the Chinese government and the CPC are willing to promote relations with Ethiopia.

Wang is leading a CPC delegation to visit here at the invitation of the ruling Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF)

Zenawi said the friendly exchanges between the Chinese and Ethiopian ruling parties, namely, the CPC and the EPRDF, will benefit bilateral relations, noting that Ethiopia attaches great importance to China's experience of reform and development.

Wang also held talks with Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister Addisu Leggese on Tuesday, exchanging views on several bilateral issues.
