Xie wins women's singles at China Open (with results)

Xie Xingfang has claimed the women's singles title at the China Open badminton in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province.

She beat Hong Kong player Wang Chen in a tough, three set match to win the third gold medal for China at the tournament.

Earlier, China's Lin Dan won the men's singles title for China and Olympic champions Yang Wei and Zhang Jiewen won the women's doubles gold medal.
