Four gold medals and three world records made it a 'China Day' in the seventh session of the swimming competition at the 12th Paralympic Games Saturday.

The night opened with a heat race in men's 100m backstroke S11, where Viktor Smyrnov from Ukraine led from the start to clinch the gold in one minute 11.29 seconds, just ahead of Javier Goni from Spain in 1:11.71.

Then it was the showtime for the Chinese team.

Dong Qiming, 26, came out first when she powered after the turn to edge out Rina Akiyama of Japan and grabbed the gold medal in women's 100m backstroke S11. Her time 1:22.35 was four hundredths of a second faster than the former world record.

Defending Paralympic champion Zhu Hongyan, lining-up with the Paralympic legend, Trischa Zorn, dominated the pool in women's 100m backstroke S12 to won her third gold in Athens in a new world record, 1:08.89.

Zorn, from the United States, took the bronze medal, adding to her 54 Paralympic medal tally in eight Paralympics.

Li Peng came up from the third place to clinch a final-meter win in men's 50m butterfly S6 in 32.82.

Tian Rong, 17, and Pei Mang, 31, were the last picture of China' s "golden show" when they finished 1-2 in men's 50m butterfly S7. Tian touched in a world record time of 31.32 with Pei in 32.91.

The men's 100m breaststroke SB13 saw the first double-winner event in the swimming competition, when Daniel Clausner from Germany and Andrey Strokin both touched home in 1:12.09.

The 12 other gold medals were shared by nine teams.

Eight world records fell out of 18 finals of the night.

The swimming competitions feature 167 disciplines at the games.
