Australian rowers take men's coxless pair gold

Drew Ginn and James Tomkins of Australia, gold medal winner in last year's world championships, won the men's coxless pair final in six minutes and 30.76 seconds on Saturday.

Sinisa and Niksa Skelins of Croatia, silver medalist in 2003 world championships, won the silver medal with 1.81 seconds behind.

South Africans Donovan Cech and Ramon di Clemente, sixth placer in Sydney, snatched the bronze with a further 2.56 seconds at rear.
